Respect In Sport Program

Updated Thursday October 5, 2017 by Chris Cox.

**Reminder - all players in U10 or older MUST have one parent/guardian obtain a Respect in Sport Certificate**

If you completed the program last year or sent one in from another sport - than you do not need to do it again.  If you are new the the Brewers or are moving up to U10 this year, ensure we are given your ceritifcate number prior to May 1.  If you are unsure - email us.

This year the Springfield Brewers are offering a parent "Respect in Sport" program. This program is available and recommended for all our parents but is mandatory to be obtained by at least one parent/guardian per player household of a U10 and older SBSA registered player. The program is entirely online and the cost is $12 plus HST. The program is about 1 hour long but you can stop and start at your leisure.

Respect in Sport for Parents is an effective and informative online training program for parents of active children. This unique certification program compliments our coach and player training by reinforcing a parent's role in a child or youth's activities, encouraging positive sport behaviours, and providing insight into the various roles other individuals (such as coaches and officials) play. This program empowers parents to ensure the safety of their children, encourage positive and effective communication, and to enhance a child's fun and camaraderie of the activity.

Certification for the Respect in Sport for Parents program must be obtained by at least one parent or legal guardian of any SBSA registered player no later than May 1, 2018.  Should certification not be obtained by May 1, the SBSA player will be ineligible to participate in any Springfield Brewers sanctioned activity until one parent or legal guardian is certified.

If you have already taken the program from a different team/sport (AMHA for example), your certificate is still valid and you don't need to take it again but you will need to upload your current certificate number to the link below for our SBSA records.
